Anthropology in Spain

The deposits in the Sierra de Atapuerca have provided an archaeo-paleontological revolution at European level. Not only have human fossils demonstrated our presence on the continent for almost a million years, they have also become an essential reference for any study of Middle Pleistocene fossil populations.

Our collaboration with the University of Burgos makes it possible for interested students to take an interesting course for the development of their professional activity.

With more than 120,000 visitors a year and having toured the most important museums in half the world, Atapuerca becomes the center of anthropology and paleontology in Spain and Europe, and one of the largest in the world. This place, combined with the three World Heritage cities and the numerous archaeological and artistic sites of Castilla y León, make this region the most important cultural destination in Spain and one of the most important in Europe. This educational program on archeology offers the opportunity to improve the linguistic capacity of students while immersed in one of the greatest anthropological treasures.
